Background on the National Center For Advanced Technologies

Now in its tenth year of existence, the National Center for Advanced Technologies (NCAT) was founded as a non-profit research and education foundation to provide a bridge between government, industry and academia, and to encourage cooperative efforts on technology development.

NCATs initial years were dedicated to the development and publication of eight national strategic plans for technology development under the umbrella program Key Technologies for the Year 2000. On completion of that program in 1992, NCAT turned its efforts toward affordability initiatives. Most of these initiatives cross the conventional boundaries between government, industry, and academia. This site documents NCATs affordability activities in recent years and offers a view of future discussion topics.

We invite you to browse the general areas in this site and to contact us if you are interested in receiving more information; or if you are interested in participating in any of our team activities. Additionally, NCAT has several products for training in Integrated Product and Process Development: Video series, CD-ROM course, and project consulting services.
